Magnet Meditation Technique For Inner Balance

Most everyone has experienced the “pull,” or attraction, when two magnets draw together and felt the pushing away when the magnets are facing at opposite ends. You are physically experiencing the flow of the charged particles that exists in all things, including our own bodies.

As we are discussing in other articles and video this week, working with magnets is a good way to become more aware of the energy that flows through all things and what it feels like. While each person may experience slightly different sensations when exploring this energy, the important thing is to become familiar with the way it feels to you. The magnets simply amplify the sensations and help you to focus on the experience and enjoy the benefits of meditation in a relatively short period of time.

Focusing on this energy quiets your mind and draws greater attention to the powerful forces of nature. Sit quietly to enjoy a few minutes with two small magnets, and then think about these natural forces in a slightly different way:

As you hold the magnets, one in each hand, slowly begin to move them toward each other. Stay focused and notice when you begin to feel the “pull,” or attraction between the two magnets. Pause here, right at the edge, and experience the point of tension. Notice the point of balanced energy, where the edges of your energy and the magnet’s energy field meet. A slight adjustment in either direction allows one or the other energy to come into stronger play.

When we learn to be easily in touch with this interplay of energy and are fully present with ourselves and the sensation that develops in our body and mind, we can discover balance within. This balance allows us to be engaged with what we are doing, and yet “let go.” We can experience this balance between effort and ease in other activities as well. In the same manner, for example, we can hold a challenging yoga posture that produces body tension, and yet experience glorious relaxation.
