How to Make the Most Out of the New Healing Hearts Coloring Book

Healing Hearts: A Coloring Book for Letting Go and Starting Over appeared this month on ChangeYourEnergy.com, and on the surface, it is simply brightly colored and beautiful. Looking closer, however, you see that every picture drawn by author Manwol, the founder and spiritual leader of the Sun Tao practice in Korea, is a meditation for healing your emotional pain and moving on to create your dearest dreams. She created each picture in a meditative state, and wrote the messages that accompany them based on her many years of guiding people back to their authentic selves.

The best way to color each picture, then, is by adopting a meditative frame of mind. That doesn’t mean being serious, though. As you can see from Manwol’s artwork below, the images she makes are fun and free.







Put your worries aside for half an hour, and let your inner child out to play. By spending some time coloring with freedom and focus, you’ll not only release your stress and shift your mood, but you’ll also step outside your usual frame of mind and see new possibilities and hope.

When choosing a picture to play with, you can go through the lessons in order, moving through I’m sorry, please forgive me, I forgive you, thank you, I love you, I’ll start over, I love my life, I have a dream, I soar into my dreams, and I create a new life. Or, you can choose whichever picture you feel you need at that time.

Find Your Inner Groove
You can enhance your coloring experience by setting the mood, both inside and out. Put on soothing or cheerful music, light some candles or incense, and find an art medium that excites you such as colored pencils, crayons, or markers. (The pages are thick.) Before beginning, take three mindful breaths to center yourself in the moment—the time when you can be most free. Then focus on your heart by feeling inside your chest. It may take a minute or two for your awareness to rest inside you if your mind has been busy, so be patient with yourself.

Once you are centered inside yourself, while still feeling your heart, read the message next to the picture you chose to color. Take it in completely. You may even want to read it more than once. Reflect on the meaning of the words and how they may apply to you.

Then, following the suggested meditation at the end of the message, use your own feeling to pick out a color and apply it to the page. Let the feeling in your heart flow through your arms and out of your hands and enjoy the moment. As you color, the message and energy of the picture will solidify within you. When you’ve finished, gaze at your work proudly with a smile and imprint its lesson deep in your mind.

While coloring in Healing Hearts can be a time of healing through solitary reflection and joy, it can also be a time of healing through love and support shared with others. Invite friends, family, and/or coworkers to color together.

However you use it, Healing Hearts is an ideal way to seek the genuine peace, growth, and happiness you can only create yourself. Apply what you gain from it to color all of the scenes of your life.
