Lively and quick-witted, Monkeys are the ninth animal in the Asian Zodiac. Their magnetic and mischievous natures compliment their cleverness and creativity. Monkeys are never satisfied and are ready to try anything. Their flexibility makes them willing to accept feedback and learn from their mistakes.

Surrounded by the purity of white flowers, the symbol of the Monkey in this painting rises above the mundane to wholeness and fulfillment. Through this painting, Manwol tells us: enjoying change with a sense of divinity will open the door to new creation.

Bring the Monkey into your space if you were born in the year of the Monkey, or if you want more liveliness and light-heartedness in your life.

SERIES: 12 Zodiac Animals

Asian astrology represents each year with an animal and an element that have characteristics that influence your relationships, health, and fortune. The 12 Asian Zodiac animals are, in order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

This watercolor and ink series of paintings by Manwol illustrates each animal as a stylized Chinese character surrounded by colorful aspects of nature. With these paintings, Manwol hopes you receive the strength and wisdom of each Zodiac animal.

To make the most of these paintings, try to feel the energy from them while feeling the rhythm and sensation of your own breath. The energy of the Zodiac animal will come to you to use in your life.

You can choose the Zodiac animal associated with your birth year (on the lunar calendar), with your family members’ birth years, or with characteristics you wish to enhance in your life.

About the Exhibit
Manwol’s artwork is produced in a deeply meditative state with the flow of life energy and holds her mindset of positivity and love for all life. She says, “I put in my soul and my dreams when I paint. It is a loving heart and a prayer to the world. I hope that the energy of people who see the paintings will be full and bright.”
